Barbeque Grills
Barbeque grills
are the most popular of all patio flame. Even though they are not decorative as all of the other forms of patio flame, they are still flame. Most people have a grill whether it is charcoal or propane, there are even natural gas barbeque grills available.
There are several different price ranges, styles and options offered which are manufactured by many different companies. One of the few that is still built in America is the well known Weber Grill. Weber grills tend to be more expensive than most others but they can also last much longer. They offer all three cooking choices in a wide range of sizes and prices. Here is a list of some of the more popular grills on the market:
- Weber
- Ducane
- Charbroil
- Great Outdoors
- Fiesta
- Kenmore
- Vermont
- Broilmaster
- Jenn-Air
- Charmglow
- Viking
- Aussie
- Brinkman
A barbeque grill is a neccesity for any
entertaining space.
Everyone has either attended or hosted a backyard barbeque at some point in their life. The food tastes so much better than anything cooked indoors and there is no mess to clean up. I prefer gas grills since they tend to cook much more evenly then propane. I also think propane is much more explosive and therefor not as safe as gas. Not all areas will allow you to run a gas line, so check with your local municipality if you think you might go this direction. I have a propane grill by default, made by the Great Outdoors, that I placed in an unusual location. I have never found it interesting to have a grill staring me in the face every time I sit on my patio. I placed my grill along
a walkway
that is lined in back by
bushes
and opposite a fruit and
flower
bed. I can stand on the level path and cook, sit at the bench beside the grill and be out of sight from the patio. This also resolves the problem of any smoke bothering anyone on the patio.
The first step for choosing a grill is deciding on how much money you want to spend. Then what type of cooking heat is preferred. If your looking for charcoal or gas then the choices are few. If your looking for propane then it may take some time. There are all types and sizes, with regards to number of burners, and options, like side gridles, to choose from. Do you want it to last forever or do you like purchasing new every five years or so?
With price and cooking type in mind you are ready to purchase. Number of burners depends on how large a group you intend to feed. If you intend to cook several courses outdoors then you may need the side burners. Rottiserie's are a nice addition and at the least the option to add one should be chosen. Are cabinets, drawers and work surfaces sufficient? Check the weight of the lid, the more advanced they get the heavier the lid seems to be. Is color an important part of the decision? All issues should be considered since grills are an expensive purchase.
If you don't already have a barbeque grill, try one out. I was never a grill fan myself but once we purchased one I understood the attachment. It's a great way to enjoy the outdoors, food and people.
