Garden Accessories
Decorating with
Garden accessories
are the final step in creating a perfect outdoor living space. This is the final touch, the step that shows your personality. I like to use all types of decoration but I prefer mostly natural items.

There are many types of yard accessories available including statues, sculptures, windspinners and
birdhouses
. I have a variety of items scattered throughout my yard. I like
chimes
and
spinners
for the sound and movement,
word stones
for the visual and style aspect and
hooks and stands
to provide different elevations within my beds.
Stepping stones
and
edging
are also necessary to create paths and a clean look. You can even create your own accessories with a little time.
One of my favorites accessories are the
speakers
I have. They are an outdoor speaker shaped like a large mushroom so they virtually disappear in the beds. I became very interested in sound when we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge in Disney World. Every night when we arrived back at our hotel I would here this very soft music that made me feel so at peace. They ran it all over the grounds so as you walked up the pathways the music would play and the lights would flicker. I truly felt I was staying in a lodge somewhere in the Rocky Mountains.
Ecology
also plays a part in my yard. I know that by having things like birdhouses, toad houses, trellises and planters of flowers that I am providing an environmental need for many species.
Garden Accessories are also a great way to add additional color to the yard. Try adding a little of each type of decoration. You can even add
sculpture or art
to any outside wall. If your
theme
is african you can add african masks to walls, trellises, fences or anywhere you would like. Think outside the box and use your
creative
side.
Let your personality take over and pick whatever works for you and have fun with it. This is your personal space so make it anyway you want. So go out and decorate your yard just like you would any room in your home.
