Jacuzzi

A jacuzzi is not your typical water feature but it does hold water and has now become very popular for outdoors. Technically it is an outdoor water feature but it is purely intended for personal relaxation unlike a pond or water fountain. Hot tubs are probably the most expensive addition for any outdoor living space ranging in price from a few thousand to $15,000 or so. It all depends on what you want, the cheaper ones are exposed and have few jets and seating spaces. The most expensive ones have built in speakers, light shows and can seat almost the whole party.

There are also completely enclosed units that are nice for areas like mine that are swarmed with bugs at night. The three primary factors determining cost are number of jets, number of seats and number of accessories. Then there are all of the other little items like rotating jets, water spills, filtration and many more.

Before purchasing a water spa, check with local officials to see if there are any building requirements that must be met since these spas are extremely heavy when filled with water. Typically a sufficient pad must be poured. Also make sure that proper electrical is run which meets code for the area otherwise it might be an issue when the property is sold.

If you love to garden, then this would be a great addition to work out all those aches and pains. There's nothing like a little extra motivation to work harder. If you turn your backyard into a vacation retreat, the money you save not traveling could easily purchase a reasonable spa.

When planning your outdoor paradise, give a jacuzzi some consideration for all the benefits it can provide. As long as you have the space it is a smart investment. You may not get all your money back when selling but you will stand above the others resulting in a quick sale.
