Outdoor Mood Lights

Outdoor mood lights can create whatever atmosphere desired. There are many different types of light and ways to conform that light to the desired affect. Some lighting that can be considered for setting a mood are torches, solar lights, lanterns, gel burners and tea lights. There are also battery powered lights than can be used outdoors which come with changing colors.

Any mood can be created with light including romance and relaxation. Solar lights are nice since they give off a low intensity light while any type of flame can always set the mood. Even candles are great for those windless evenings and they can provide a nice aroma.

Try using different types of light in combination or changing them from their original form. For example, try changing out the clear glass in a standard electric coach light to a colored glass. You can even create and make your own covers that slide right over the existing housing. String lighting can also be used on rafters of arbors or strung around trellises. Virtually any type of lighting can be used to create any ambiance provided it's not to bright. I love flicker bulbs which can be added to almost any electric or solar light. That combined with other real flame provides plenty of soft light.

Whatever the choice, outdoor mood lighting is easy to achieve and the rewards are great. When creating your outdoor lighting plan, remember to consider setting a tone for those private times.
