Outdoor String Lights

Outdoor string lights can enhance an outdoor living space and set a mood. This lighting has not changed much over the years. There are many more styles to choose from but the concept is still the same. It is basically the same as an outdoor string of lights we use for holidays like Christmas and Halloween. It's only the cover that is over the individual light that makes a difference and those offerings have changed.

These lights are great for use in gazebos, on arbors and pergolas. They can be used on any structure or used to line a path.

There is probably a style to fit any need but you may have to look awhile. They are inexpensive and a single strand uses very little power.

They are great for use in combination with other sources of lighting. Since they don't give off much light, they can really set a mood. I have a string in the ceiling of my arbor that is only visible when sitting in the arbor. I also have electric lighting around the arbor.

The only thing negative I have noticed about this type of lighting, is like holiday string lights they tend not to last very long. If your in a cold weather climate, I would suggest taking them in before winter. If the set fails though, you can always save the light covers and just buy a standard string of lights and reuse the light covers. You will also need to provide electricity so placement may be an issue if the outlet is to far away.

Outdoor string lighting is not just your plastic Chinese lanterns anymore. The styles have improved enough to be consider for your outdoor living space.
