The joy and relaxation water can provide is well worth considering. It also provides the ability to mask the neighborhood noise when needed. I prefer fountains since they tend to cover the typical suburban noise.

are not really a water feature but they do hold water and are becoming a very popular water addition to the yard. You'll need to make sure to run an electric line for the intended location.
